After reading some of the workout numbers this offseason and then seeing the 40 times I had reserved optimism but after reading some of Bunting's comments in the local paper that has fallen to reserved hope.
I don't have the quote in front of me but it went something like this.... "we have some good football players and we can have a good season, we need our seniors to step up their game as do the underclassmen."
1. No shit
2. You need everyone on the team to step it up some?
So what you're saying is that to have a good season you need everyone on roster to play above their ability. That to me is a bad sign.
Durant is a good QB and although our starting RB has improved his workout #'s by 213lbs he can't open holes for himself. Add in the fact that we moved a starting OT to DT last year (due to injuries) and we have decided to keep him there and we moved our starting FB* to DE due to injuries last year and he's staying there also...... wtf?
(Madison Hedgecock is practicing at DE but has praciticed some at FB so that isn't definite)
Did you people evaluate these players last year?
I have a problem with shuffling players after their Sophomore season for the fact that those players should have been evaluated and already recognized for the talent that they have and been playing in their strongest/natural position.
I think we can suprise some teams and win a couple games we "shouldn't" but our front seven still isn't good enough to control the run.
Cheers boys and girls here's to 5 or 6 wins.... hopefully 7.
