After a somewhat sluggish 1st half, McDowell adjusted the press and poured it on in the 2nd. Lovik led the scoring with 25, Brown 15, Patrice Smith 10, and Atkinson 9. I don't know how many assists Anna had, but we all know that leads to alot of the points. Overall effort in the second half was good and they showed some tenacity on the boards. Freedom and Reynolds are both going to be strong challenges. Hang on tight!

Congrats, to McDowell on their win. The Lady Rockets didn't play due to the snow in Boone. Looks like we will try to play Saturday night. Hopefully we can keep pace with ya, and set up a round one showdown Jan. 20th at Reynolds. That should be fun! However don't overlook Freedom on your way there, they are a very good team! We still have Watauga and South Caldwell, prior to that meeting as well, so we both still have a little work left before that game. Good luck to ya, and hope everyone stays healthy!

Another good showing overall by the Lady Titans. But when Lovik got two quick fouls and East Burke was hanging around in the first half, I admit I was a thinking about this game staying real close and who would be getting key minutes. As good as the talent is on the Lady Titan team, they IMO are a bit thin for my liking. I hope not having Corpening available will not be our downfall.

If you watch the game tonight, McDowell is better at playing wide open. That means full court pressure. When McDowell started the 2nd half in that 2-1-2 zone, they fell flat and East Burke quickly made it a 4 point game.

East Burke is mainly a one girl team. As much flack as Helton gets, they would be the worst team in the conference without her.
