it tells me that I have errors on my scan disk and to run scan disk which I did and it fixed the errors but defrag tells me again and now scan disk says there ain't no errors and to quit fucking with it. But when I try to defrag, it tells me that scan disk is not telling the truth.

Did you do a regular scan or did you do a scan for bad sectors? Sometimes the regular scan doesn't pick up bad sectors. You are doing the right thing by trying to fix the errors before running the defrag.

We cool now---I went in there and told Mr. Defrag that I had Math and VOR on this case and he just threw his hands up and fragged away.

I don't mean to bore you guys, but could one of you tell me what
"defrag" does?
[I didn't know you had to have an accompanying disc, too boot.]

The disc is a program that comes with window system tools---
Scandisk
Defrag speeds your comp up a little

Basically reorganizes your files on your hard disk. Think of a record player and the record as your hard disk. If a song was spread out all over the record, the needle would be busy as shit going back and forth finding the middle, beginning and end. When you delete files, it leaves fragments of space throughout the drive. When you write new files to your computer, it puts parts of the file here and there, whereever the pieces fit. You really don't need to worry about it if you don't delete and add files to your computer often.

I'll just add to that by saying if your drive is fragmented, the read/write head would spend more time opening/accessing files because the file (while in one place as far as you are concerned) is actually in several locations on the disk.
A defragmentation does what Y2 said: it reorganizes so that the file is in consecutive blocks on the drive.

Now, having said that, I can't tell what in the hell a 'degrag' is. That's some kinda Putt 'Puter-speak.

defrag: the act of defragmentation., the first 6 letters in defragging.
Used in a sentence----"I am gonna "defrag" my Comp tonight so I won't be able to pimp my sister off up at the local bar.

I don't know. Is it a trick question ?:(
Oh I get it. I know what one is now.
Degrag: verb, meaning what happens to the one who plans a neighborhood yard sale when the weather man has clearly stated that it will rain on that day.
Used in a sentence---"Come on neighbors, lets go get mathmajors and degrag his ass down the street":)

Nope. Saturday. Again. I can't wait to take the remainders to Goodwill.
'Degrag' - what Putt types when he momentarily forgets what in the hell an 'f' is.
