we need a moderator for this much-needed forum. also, we'll need to move a BUNCH of threads from rant & rave over here.

i'm very interested in the exhange of ideas and enlightnement that can come from this forum.

i want to stay away from being judgemental, preachy and superior -- no matter where you hang your spiritual hat.

Hasbeen

he already has his own board and a moderator of a religion forum over at that other place. Make me Larry!!!
This religion forum? People like Missteri can't come over here and disrespect people, right? and no cussing like most of these threads have already?

Hasbeen would be my choice too.

Sorry...I don't see chief tony as nonjudgemental. Of all the supposed Christians on this board, Hasbeens is the only one that has ever been able to impress me by arguing his case without making a person feel like a second class citizen because his/her beliefs were different. IMO he's got more religious backgrounds besides Christianity too.

Hasbeen already contributes to all the religious based threads and has let it be known that any of us can contact via pm's if we have something we want to talk about but don't want to put it on the board for all to see. IMO he is already doing the job, except for moving threads.

And builder is absolutely right. He can talk to you and discuss things with you without being judgmental. He leaves that job for God.

hasbeen would be an awesome moderator, if he has the time & inclination. He is one of the very FEW professed Christians that I know who truly, consistently, exhibits open-mindedness & tolerance toward those who disagree with his views.

He also has shown himself to be very intelligent & very well-read on the subject of religion--not just HIS religion.

wow, another new forum. Pretty soon R&R will be reduced to Happy Birthdays and York and his crayons.

No no no. You and York and Happy Birthdays would be all that's left of R&R. Got nothing to do with you not being a good mod for Religion.

Good choice! But is there really any reason for me to post here? JB pretty much covered my view.
Edit: He limited it to Christians, but I am an equal opportunity athiest.

I'll always welcome a solid debate, Tery, as long as it doesn't degrade into personal attacks or ridicule. On either side.

That is why I cannot post.

Edit: ALL religious tenents have equal validity as long as they enhance human rights and well-being. ALL religious tenents are equally invalid when they invoke the supernatural.

My two cents for the umpteenth time.

i do want to read about atheism. you an't talk about light without talking about dark. you can't have up without down. you can't have in without out.

for a while in late middle school/high school i considered myself atheist. then i figured out i was more agnostic.

i'm still not sure exatly what i believe, but i think about it every day.

That is truly disappointing. I'm sorry you don't feel you can engage in honest debate about what you believe. The door will always be open if you change your mind. :)

Builder is right, Hasbeens just has a way of being non judgemental and arguing with rationale. That's for sure one of his special gifts from God.
