okay, so what's a good online game we can hook up and go at? i played halflife counterstrike a bit, but i gotta say, it seems so outdated that i just couldn't handle it.
is unreal tourney out yet? i got the demo and it's decent. there's a bazillion other FPS games and i really haven't kept track of what's good and not... i lost interest in online play with a bunch of strangers, but this poker thing is pretty cool since i feel like i know the player a little bit.

BATTLEFIELD 1942 WITH THE DESERT COMBAT MOD.
I really like BF 1942 but got out of PC gaming when I got my XBOX live. I'd be interested in starting again. I've just been out of the PC Gaming loop for a while but it ain't that hard to get back in.
that UT2004 is pretty cool, but I tend to like more realistic settings. I have high hopes for BF: Vietnam.
I'm actually going to buy BFV so we can all get together one night and kill the fuck out of each other...
Counterstrike is still king though...can't wait for HF2 with the CS mod

One thing that pissed me off about BF 1942 is the fuckers on your own team that wouls shoot you if you were heading for a vehicle they wanted. Especially planes. I could not fucking stand that. That's why it would be cool to get in with people you know.

Friendly Fire = Off, which is the defaults etting on all the EA servers.
I have been playing the latest DC release for the past week or so. It looks snazzy but it just isnt as fun. The vehicles are imbalanced versus the old 1942 maps, the new maps aren't that great, and the Iraqi's specialist guys suck. I cant stand the Iraqi sniper rifer. I cant aim it to save my life. ALso not crazy about a fully auto sniper rifle with a 20 round clip. That's imbalanced. I am addicted to the ridiculous accuracy of the american sniper rifle, in a bad way. I think it's a crutch now. I also love playing special ops.
I quit playing the game because of all the bad attitude kids and teenagers, the "clans" (goobers), and the admin's with a god complex who reset the map everytime their team is losing. Too many people don't play to obtain the objectives, which is the best way to play. For instance, I hate chicken sh!t snipers who hide and just play for total kill count. When I play a sniper, I infiltrate. Played midway last night and took both island flags as a sniper despite being the only player on my team that had made it to dry land. Was a hoot watching the other team try to find me and picking off the few who did before relocating.

I will whoop a clans ass. I hate those little punks. I haven't played that in a long time. I may have to set that up this weekend.
nascar 2004 kicks ass if you get in with a group who races and doesnt fuck around.

HALO PC multiplayer rules. - Of course I have not played any others online in team mulitplayer format.

UT was a really good one back about three years ago.
Battlefield could get it done.

yeah, i got out of this stuff for the same reasons. people would learn the tricks of the particular game or map and then exploit the shit out of them. it was like playing against robots. it was fun, but then it got a bit tedious.
anybody know any games that have mac-based servers? i might know somebody that has access to macs on a good connection... maybe...
the new Desert COmbat has "punkbuster" disables any cheating

the new version of UT isn't out yet, but the demo is pretty sweet. Especially the assault map.
