I know my DD doesn't start until this fall but I thought I might jump in on this one as well...LOL....
Go Rifles...

They are looking good this young season. My daughter is really excited about going. The Lady Rifles are 14-0 on this young season. Not sure what happened in yesterday's games against Francis Marion...

FMU won the first game 7-1. USCS won second 4-3.

Well, that took care of the undefeated record...Thanks for the update. I had gone to both USCS and Francis Marion websites and couldn't find the scores. Maybe when the peach belt conference basketball ournament is over they can keep the websites more up to date...I wonder who pitched for USCS the first game...

I didn't see all of the first game. Jen Whited pitched; Jessie Burrroughs was pitching when I got there. If I remember correctly, they gave up 13 hits.
Second game- Kasey Heron pitched a good game. 7 hits I think, but had strike outs when it counted.

The Peach Belt is tough! My DD came in late for USCS, she hit the field with no practice, but she is getting her swing back. USCS softball is a lot of fun. We love Coach Hawkins.

I saw where USCS got 4 votes in the latest poll...Kennesaw St. is the new number 1.

The Abbey lost to top ranked Kennesaw State 2-1 and 8-3 a couple of weeks ago.

note: BAC plays them again in Florence, SC this Saturday.... :banana:

Hawk is one of the premier college coaches in the southeast and truely outstanding young man! keep us posted on dd's progress!

Evan Miller was recruited for softball and ended up playing basketball last year. This year she is playing both. Evan was highly recruited but wanted to attend a small school and she really liked Coach Hawkins. He has a hit and run style that is fun to watch and suits Evan's abilities.
USCS is trying to move away from its commuter school image. It reminds me a lot of UNCC about 20 years ago. There is a lot of building going on there. Plus, Coach Hawk has one of the best fields around.

oh enkajet04..........this is going to be yours and djg thread for a few years since you two are the ones with those DDs there or going there. Now make us all proud, including Hawkins and keep the scores and stats coming in on Rilfle Softball.

I am going down tonite(after the St Stephens/Kings Mtn game) as well as tommorrow; 8pm game tonite and for the 2pm game are the two times i am locked in on.........NC State Games!!

Having watched djg's DD play high school ball and yours, mainly throughout travel ball, the Fun and Run style should only get better with this combo. We all should get together next Saturday in Spartanburg for that tournament, take in a few games and enjoy some Live chatting at that beautiful place USCS ballfield.

Note: djg, you are so correct about the suitcase school image, its just like the ole UNCC and certainly things are growing for USC-Spartanburg.

enkajet, i plan to be there around 1pm tommorrow and you will notice that ugly ole man with the bright red N-C-S-T-A-T-E Jersey on and for more reasons the obivious. GO WOLFPACK!!! :xyzthumbs

USCS is now 30-4 on the season
7-1 in the conference

They are at home on Saturday against 4th ranked North Florida which gave Numero Uno ranked Kennessaw their first loss.

The game thursday against LR is cancelled. LR said they had to make up conference games and couldn't play. USCS travels to Columbus State Saturday at 3:00 and Kennesaw State at 1:00. USCS is ahead of Columbus State in conference play and is tied with Kennesaw State. Big games this weekend! Making few mistakes could lead to big things for the Rifles!

USCS will make a trip to Kennesaw next thursday to Play for a final 8 trip to Florida for the Division II National Champion. The six teams in the region tournamnet are
1. Kennesaw State
2. Armstrong Atlantic
3. North Florida
4. Presbyterian
5. USC Spartanburg
6. Belmont Abbey

USC Spartanburg has been fortunate to have beaten this year the sixth seed, the fourth seed, the third seed, and the second seed. Wish them luck! :applause:

Hopefully we will hear the announcement real soon that USCS got an at large bid for the southern regionals.

if my memory is correct, they did make it....plus KSU, AASU, NFL, BAC, LR, Presybteryn and games to be played at Kennesaw State(KSU), this is so, aint so ya'll?? :thinking: we are waiting on the actual times?

My bad CFBall, this is what happens when I don't read the comments written before my own. I just knew that the official announcement comes out today? I figured that it was a done deal and wanted to draw attention to the fact but a day late again or in this case two days late...lol.
And I am sorry Lblues but USCS numero uno....

I just listened to the USCS - North Florida game and the Lady Rifles won 5-2 and now North is out of the tournament. It was really great sitting here working and listening to the play by play anouncement via the computer.
