Survival horror in prison. Oz meets Hellraiser. Twisted and sadistic with pretty solid gameplay... definately not for children. This game is written at a "hard-R" rating and is highly graphic. So far the Jaded Horror Fan is impressed! Fellow lovers of dark, mature-themed action should find themselves humming old Johnny Cash tunes in no time.

yeah, this game kicks so much ass. Resident Evil meets Doom meets Silent Hill...it's great on so many levels. The graphic language, violence, etc. And the flashbacks and ambient sounds are enough to give you chills if you play on a 5.1 system in the dark.

If you think you'd like it, you probably will. Play it with the lights off. :xyzthumbs

If you think you'd like it, you probably will. Play it with the lights off. :xyzthumbsDefinitely. The first shower scene with the freaky things with syringes and needles about scared the shit outta me. This is really an excellent under-rated game. It's more action oriented than the Resident Evil games, and a little more free-form, meaning there's more places you can explore rather than being limited to corridor after corridor. I'm not sure about buying it because it's kinda short, but it's worth renting long enough to beat it. There's also 3 different endings which depend on how much you help the other prisoners/guards, or how much you hurt them, plus the 3rd ending depends on how much you use the mutate mode where you can turn into the wicked beast.

The shotgun kicks ass :)

It really boils down to a good version of resident evil without worrying about stupid ass puzzles that make no sense or running out of ammo at the wrong time.

Back in March (http://www.thisboardrocks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57879)

Bought the game the day it was released and liked it alot. You're right Rez, it's a cool game to play in the dark.

Don't worry, I didn't see it either. It's not like it scrolled off the first page though. :laugh1:

it's decent, tho it's got problems. i set my middle button up as "use" and it doesn't work on grabbing things (i flash to the grab mode, then it turns off). also, the first time i played i got stuck behind a chair and couldn't get free.

the pistol sucks -- the shiv kills in fewer blows, tho i'm still getting used to the "range" it has. also, the bullets from the pistol feel like they're more thrown than fired, they're so slow.

i never really got into the 3rd person games (tomb raider thru splinter cell)... and FPS has gown tiresome.

nice graphics and overall mood, tho. very graphic. they didn't really shy away from much.
