Anyone have this? I am going to get it when Halo2 comes out. I am betting Microsoft will jack the prices up due to the craze for Halo 2. I am looking to buy it sooner than later and wanted to know if anyone else has it or was thinking of getting it also
a lot of us have it, and love it. I seriously doubt it they change the price just because of halo 2. It's well worth the 50 bux a year. I was actually a first wave beta tester, so I've had it a LONG time. It's a very good service, with more features added all along. This season's sports games will take advantage of features like online leagues with "living" rosters, meaning you can make trades, injuries stay persistant, etc.
Just about any live game you buy will come with a code for 2 free months so you can check out, you just won't have the headset that comes with the starter kit. You can get the headset for 30 bux.
been paying for it for about 5 or 6 months and used it about 30 minutes.

I have seen it for sale at Media play for 65 dollars (starter kit I think) for a years service. I'll be going out this weekend and buying it. Might be back asking questions

i'll just play my ps2 online for free then. you xboxers carry on.
you gotta free network adapter?
yeah, xbox online is an actual service, not just a bunch of game companies haphazardly throwing online support into their games. And yeah, the free network adaptor and hard drive for the ps2 are awesome! :xyzthumbs

well i don't have the online adaptor yet, but my brothers roommate does and they tell me its a buy, plug-n-play deal. they lying?
$30 upfront still is better than $50 a year.
ps2's online sucks compared to xbox. worth the xtra $

If you're too cheap to pay $4.17 a month for an actual service that is top-notch, then how can you justify paying for the games themselves? :D

$30 upfront still is better than $50 a year.I got both PS2 Online is junk in comparison. Network connections aren't as good. On top of that I now have the better graphics and XBOX offers with better online play. SO at this point 99% of the games I buy will be for XBOX

The supposed "debate" about this is just the squaking of PS2 fan boys holding on to their allegiance. My brothers and I play the sports games online against each other on both systems and its not even close. Whenever possible, we play XBox Live. It's worthe very penny. One unified, stable system with all the friends/invite features, across all the games. If one guy is playing a Tom Clancy game and you wanna get a game of hoops going, you just send him an invite on the system. web integration just makes it better.

well, i'll pay my 50 for the upcoming year. and then the next year the new systems will be out. you really think playstation is not gonna make you pay for online on their new system? might as well spend the 20 bucks extra for the good stuff.
when ya'll are spending that extra $50 every year, just remember that i'll be buyin an extra game with my savings. enjoy.I've already bought an extra game for my xbox, what with not needing a memory card and a network adaptor and a hard drive and multi-tap so more than 2 people can play and all.
PS2 is on the decline big-time. Most people I know are only keeping theirs for the next GTA game.

Ok, I am a new XBox Live owner. Hooked the cable from the D-Link Router (internet to modem to router) one line goes to PC I am typing on. Anyway hooked from router to XBox system. As instructions say stick a XBox online game in and it doesn't show that I am hooked to XBox live. Routers light on where the cable is hooked to, what is the problem
Did you buy an XBox Live Starter Kit? Install XBox Live on your XBox hard drive?

That is fun as piss.
I played my first live game. Dude had a good record, was the cowboys then changed to the pats.
He picked me for a TD and his first lead with 2:05 left. I needed a TD to win.
I drove in 1:00 - 2 point converted. Sacked Brady 2 of 4 plays to kneel and win.
It's soooo geeky that it was that fun. If I had a headset, it'd be bad.
