Media Play and EB were expecting it late today or 10AM tomorrow.
if anyone gets it, i'm interested in seeing how they rated the panthers players.

I've got my copy, glanced through the manual. I didnt play 2k4, so a lot of these features will be new to me. They all sound really cool. I wonder how well the one that tracks & saves an opponent's play style so you can practice/play against it later works?
I could abuse my bro using that feature.
Panthers players are rated pretty close to how I would rate them, other than a couple exceptions. They don't have Colbert as high as I would have him, our TEs suck, but we pretty much knew that anyway. Nelson is listed as a Guard, and depth charts are kinda funky, you can only put a guard as a backup guard, unlike madden where you can put anyone anywhere. Although you can substitute anyone into any position in a formation using a custom playbook or subbing by formation once you're in a game. The weekly prep feature is micromanagement to the hilt, it's a pain to set up, I'm only on Tuesday of the first week, I gave the guys half a day off. Thankfully your prep settings save from week to week and you can just put a check mark by them to have the team do that task, but setting them all up initially is a major pain. I made everyone watch film monday, and had a coach meeting where I "challenged" the team. It's very cool so far, I lost my first play now game to San Diego 13-7 on all-pro difficulty. I was able to move the ball, but sacks and turnovers killed me. Gonna take a while to get used to it after playing Madden since 92. The ESPN presentation is incredible, all the stats and overlays of a real sunday night game. BoA stadium at night looks unreal, you can see the skyline and everything.

Got mine... went to 2 stores without any then actually went to Blockbuster video, since it was on my way anyways, and they had one.

Well first impressions:
1) Game sucks when you keep trying to hit the default NCAA buttons. How many big plays did I needlessly allow?
2) Game speed = fast compared to NCAA
3) not crazy about the controls or the interface. I like what I'm used to.
4) I have to do something with the paybook(s). Sucked almighty.
Other than the learning curve (and it's steep for me), it's pretty cool. I am glad now that I got both games.

I'm actually a little disappointed. The control sucks. The overall visuals are knockout, but I'm not overly impressed with the game as a whole.

Still getting used to it, but I like it.
Fuck, I like it that our ratings are so good. Smitty is a beast, so is DAvis. Just like in real life!
Alot of control stuff I don;t get. The Crib! is gay. Franchise mode is confusing.

Played a couple of games with the Redskins this morning. Portis had 157 yards on 30 carries but I could not pass the ball to save my life. I to am having a hard time getting used to the controls. So far I'd say 2K5 is awesome visually but has some gameplay problems.

I completed passes.
All the controls are different - touch, that type of thing.
ALOT of options on run. Shoulder drive, power run, speed burst, control which way to stiff arm.
Have you tried the first person? That's wierd.
Also - the players LOOK like the players.

Panthers have the second highest team ranking in the game, behind only the Patriots. Nice. I like the how the flow follows the ESPN broadcasts so well. First game I played Panthers vs Giants, Jenkins had 2 sacks, Peppers had 2 sacks, Smitty, Moose, and Davis were a 3 man wrecking crew. Threw 5 int's with Delhomme though.
Next game with the Skins, players that stood out were Portis (150+ combined rushing and receiving) and Sean Taylor (2 sacks, forced fumble, couple pass breakups).

Passing kinda bites, I think I've completed about 5 passes and 3 of them were the same extended slant play :)

Took a day or two to get used to the controls (and I owned 2k3), but now I can safely say that this game rocks. The visuals and surround sound are among the best I've seen. Overall probably a push with Madden, but for $20, you can’t beat it.
For anyone that owns two systems, the Xbox version is much better than the PS2 version. You can add your own music tracks, and the halftime and post-game stuff with Berman is still pictures on the PS2 and full replays on the Xbox.

man this game really kicks ass, but my xbox just died for good. It won't boot or eject the disc tray, but it powers up. There's no display on the tv. I called MS and they won't repair it because I opened it up a while back to clean the lens on their shitty dvd drive. Fuck. This isn't a good time, I definitely can't afford a new xbox right now.

Does anybody know how player progression works, I have been looking for it for a little why but can't find it. I know madden has it at the end of the pre-season and season, but I don't think ESPN has it. any help would be apprecieated, I think its hard to believe that players stay the same rating.
they progress after the season. You can see the progress by going to the front office after you get to the part where there's a list of things like "player retirements" "re-sign players" "free agents" etc. When you get there, back out to the main franchise screen, go to front office, and progress will be on the bottom.

Getting the running game to work just requires being able to set men in motion, and using stiff arms, etc at the right moment. I can run against the game easily, but running on xbox live is rough.
The VIP system is awesome, you can play against a human player at anytime. In fact I downloaded one of the guys on here's vip and beat him 21-17 can't wait to play for real.. it was batgrafix I think.
Carolina rocks everybody in the league. I haven't lost a game since day one. Guess it's time to raise the setting from intermediate.

Just got done playing Batgrafix for real, I couldn't find my headset so didn't get to talk. He beat me by a couple of scores but I got better as we played, heheh. Great game.
Denver just can't run the ball on this game, but I can't bear to use a different team. Man did he ever sack me quick with Peppers on one long 3rd down. Hope to play again soon.

Good game, I thought I had recognized your name from here - You had a lot of tough breaks where your WRs just didn't catch the ball. I have that happen to me from time to time as well. It didn't help you that Travares Tillman had the game of his life either :D
It seems that if you are playing as the Panthers, that Peppers becomes nearly unstoppable in the last minute. I played a friend the other night and sacked him on 4 straight plays with Peppers just blowing by the offensive lineman like he was Todd Steussie.

to anyone doing a franchise, the best players that I've found progress the best are Mel Kiper's Steal Picks. I had a guy go from a 60 something to almost an 80 in one season.
