Question about ISP

I am on Road Runner but have a deal with AOL on the bring your own server plan. I bring up my Road Runner page and then I click on AOL. I pay 8 bucks a month for AOL for unlimited use but my question is----If I went straight to AOL from the taskbar instead of bringing up my server first, would that be considered showing up with out a server?

I just signed up for RR and they offered AOL in the package for 44.95.
