when i get a song in my head, it drives my wife nuts. well, truth be told, it doesnt just stay in my head. i probably repeat it well over three-hundred times in a day. i dont even know that i'm singing it.

anyway, the chanson du jour is playgirl by ladytron.

anytime someone talks about songs stuck in your head, that goddamn tainted love song pops up in my head. I hate that damn song.

Chevy's new TV ad campaign has planted "Vehicle" by Ides of March firmly in my head. What a kick-ass tune: I think I'll leave it there.

There's a little girl, in our neighborhood
Her name is Charlotte Johnson and she's really lookin good
I had to go and see her, so I called her on the phone
I walked over to her house, and this was goin' on

Her brother was on the sofa, eatin' chocolate pie
Her moma was in the kitchen cuttin' chicken up to fry
Her daddy was on the back porch rollin up a garden hose
I was on the porch with Charlotte feelin' love down to my toes

CHORUS
And we were swingin' (swinging)
Yes we were swingin' (swinging)
Little Charlotte she's as pretty as the angels when they sing
I can't believe I'm out here on the front porch swing
Just a swingin' (swingin)
Just a swingin' (swingin)

Now Charlotte she's a darlin she's the apple of my eye
When I'm on the swing with her it makes me almost high
Now Charlotte is my lover and she has been since the spring
I can't believe it started on her front porch in the swing

I'm now switching you to Jay and the Americans' "Come a Little Bit Closer." That should really put you over the edge.

i've been letting that video clip play over and over with my headphones on. i'm hoping that i can listen to it for 110 straight minutes (220 loops) and have it driven out of my head.

I've been waking up with songs stuck in my head for a long time. It occurred to me last week that there was music playing in my dreams and it would carry over into waking. Is that weird? Has anybody else ever thought of that?

P.S. Being a Todd Rundgren fanatic myself I would say that if you like the "Hello" song and you've never explored his music further -you really should.

I have, and still like the Hello Its Me tune - It must trigger some deep seeded memory from my youth that I am unable to bring to the surface. The song puts me in a feel good, feel sad, complacent type mood. hmmm

Woke up this morning thinking of this one:

I've got a mountain of dreams to climb
Fore I get to that house on the hill
That keeps the lady of my morning
In a brown earthen pot on the sill
Of the Window
That looks out
Across the Valley
It Probably Always Will

Anybody remember who this is? Or care to guess?

heres what's in my head, "Heads Will Roll". Does anyone know the name of the band? (no web searches). I'll give LarryD five more dollars if you can answer honestly, name of the band and album.
