Halo - bad reference to me. Found it to be unrelentingly unoriginal and boring.

SW:BF has been designed to be a Star Wars version of the Battlefield:1942 & Vietnam style of games. Medium scale tactical/objective multiplayer team combat on a fairly large battlefield.

I'll probably buy it, but I dont think it's gonna be as good as the BF series. Once the SW nostalgia wears off, I'll probably realize that it's just a pale clone with no original elements, which will probably annoy me. Plus, the Box cant support as many players per map as the PC.

That's ok, when you're burning in hell and the devil is pissing on you because he finds you boring and unoriginal then maybe you'll change your tune.

seen it available on bit torrent.... didn't bother with it.

and halo is an amazing game. played thru it twice so far. might try legendary level next. can't wait till halo 2.

these games are tough to get a guage on by graphic alone. halo's best quality is its feel. bought a used beyond castle wolfenstein for the xbox and it absolutely sucked. looked okay, but the feel of the controls just plain blew.

i think battle front is more geared towards large scale multi-player battles. pandemic (the studio that put it together) isn't really known for first person shooters, so it's anybody's guess as to how well it plays.

I still hate the hype machine that is Halo. A guy in a dorky motorcycle suit running around and shooting the bug version of Ewoks. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

I dont know if I will get SW:BF, but what kills me about the few reviews I've read are the people complaining about the bots' AI.

It's not a one player game, duh. You shouldn't be playing the one player for 5 seconds beyond mastery of the controls. That's all it's there for. It's just a trainer.

Then again, I will never understand people who buy video games to finish them. I will never ever understand the allure of playing against a bunch of scripted AI, along a boringly linear plot.

I don't even play NFL2K5 anymore unless my bro or a friend is over. The whole appeal is whooping another player's ass. That's what should rule about this SW game. If it's not good for that, I'm not interested. And the only reason to get the XBox version (since the PC one can handle more players) is so you can trash talk on that annoying mic, if I can even find mine.

the thing is, the battle front game is designed for lots of people (it's the trend it seems for many games -- support for large numbers). but not everybody likes to play with anonymous 13 year olds on the internet... hmm... that sounds kinda creepy. so people with 5 or 6 friends who want to play together are left in the lurch unless they want to add bots or play 3 on 3 on maps that are way too big and designed for 10 on 10.

Halo is great for 1 player and it is great for 16 players. That's why it is such a good game. I hate FPS, but it is a lot of fun. Halo 2 will be a blast, I can't wait to bust out the dual weapons and blast my friends to bloody hell.

i play it co-op with a friend. i'm glad to see other games doing the same thing. currently working on rainbow six that way. pretty tough. i think it's because either:

1. we suck
or
2. co-op lacks the "rest of the team" (it's just rainbow 2)

i'm leaning towards 2.

we played rogue spear that way and actually turned off the friendly AIs cuz they would end up doing everything for us. that one was no problem, but this one is MUCH harder.

Hey Dave how about hooking up a fellow XBoxer with a copy of that. By the way have you gotten the free game when I signed for XBox live under your name yet? I havn't

I wasted $50 on this dog of a game. Is there anyway I can get it back?

Trade it in next month when Halo 2 comes out. I'll be on XBox live non-stop then

got it for my birthday. it was a lot better than i thought it would be, but then it fell COMPLETELY flat (not enough variation).

i was pleased to see that the computer plays the rest of the guys fighting. so it's still a major battle whether it's two humans or 25. haven't gone online with it (not a big anonymous network gamer). might be fun on the PC for a lan party.

i like the idea of trading it in for halo 2. halo has had a major revival. i still play it co-op on legendary. maybe if we finish it, i'll shelve it for good... nah...

I actually bought the PC version on the theory that the graphics would be better (fuzzy and haphazard) and support for more players online (I think its 2x as many) would make it more fun.

It plays like what it is - a half assed BFV clone with a cool theme that gets old in about 5 minutes. If you wanna get really picky about it, having nearly every weapon (except the craptastic missile launcher) firing lasers is boring. The game play is way too repetitive. I was looking for an improvement of BFV and got a pale imitation.

Think Im gonna sell it along with Doom 3 & motocross dork death match aka Halo.

I shoulda bought Call of Duty & its new expansion. I've heard good things...

I have the PS2 version, but I imagine it's about the same. Playing against the computer its usually about 150 rebels vs 150 troopers. When you play online, is it just 12 vs 12, or do they have the AI players at the same time?

when you play split screen, it's the same massive battle with AIs. i would imagine the game is designed to have robots playing and humans taking up as many slots as are available.
