I hate to admit it ,but Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp and Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday is one hell of a movie.
Not sure if it was called Tombstone or not.

Silverado was an excellent Western...hell it was a damn fine movie regardless of genre.

I liked 'Tombstone', but the Kevin Costner 'Wyatt Earp' was much better to me.

'Silverado' was good too, although I'm not sure history will speak highly about it. Lots of slick gunplay and some really bad acting by Scott Glenn.

Tombstone was good from an entertainment standpoint, but Wyatt Earp was good from a historical view. Personally I enjoyed both.

Now as far as the best western. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Eastwood is at his best, Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef were exceptionally good. If you want an epic western, see this movie.

Spaghetti westerns have never been at the top of my list of favorites. Who's that guy who wrote all the music for those movies?

Fro

Ennio Morricone (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Morricone,+Ennio)

Ohh man. Spaghetti westerns are my favorite.

Ah, good ol' Ennio.

Remember that NBC show a few years back with Lee Van Cleef? Terrible.

Movies about the American Old West that were made in Italy. Cheaper over there, apparently.

I think Clint had been hurt and she had to put the rifle on his shoulder to shoot the explosives to blow up the trestle. He was aiming and she had to pull the trigger.

You want Eastwood westerns, hit Wal Mart or a Sam's Club near you. Pretty much all under $10. Picked up the whole Spaghetti Trilogy-The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Fistful of Dollars, and For a Few Dollars More-there. Picking up Hang'em High this weekend. Getting the Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider, and Unforgiven to round out the collection. Unless you're into Bronco Billy or Paint Your Wagon (the worst musical in history), those seven are all you'll need.

Westerns I Own:

Tombstone
Young Guns (both of 'em)
Unforgiven
and (ashamed to admit it)
The Quick and the Dead - I forgot how bad it was and only paid $7 for it.

How in the Hell did I forget High Plains Drifter? I'd rank it third behind The Good, the Band and the Ugly and Unforgiven in the Eastood westerns.

Two Mules for Sister Sarah with Shirley McClain, Clint took an arrow in the sholder, and had to get really drunk so Shirley (the Nun) could get the arrow out. They cut off the end, made a groove to hold gun powder, lit it and she smacked it with the butt of the gun to drive it through.

Then Clint had to hit the dynamite on the tresel before the train crossed. She had to help hold the gun steady while he pulled the trigger.

....and Kevin Costner made 2 decent movies, and Wyatt Earp wasn't one of them. The man just can't act.

Tombstone on the other hand...kick ass. "I'm your huckleberry"

Then you've never seen Tall in the Saddle. Clint is a real stud in that movie. He is too cool.

One seen where he's playing poker and the guy calls him cheat. Priceless.

Nurse Betty -- I just loved it when they (Cris Rock?) scalped that dude.

Clint and indians, an awesome combination. What was that movie where Clint had a gunfight at the end of the movie and he shot 7 or 8 bad guys in a bar? That movie rocked.

True Grit was awesome. Good call. But I don't know that it was better than Nurse Betty.

Billy the Kid was pretty cool too.

Did Elvis ever do a Western?
