Ok I'm bored. I just go to bed and read now. :(

:teeth:After I thought about it I thought the walls should go up first and have the ceiling rest on top the walls.
I don't know though. I should though, I watched my daddy remodel every room of our house at least once and build on additional rooms.

I like to eat Mexican food and have hung drywall on walls but never ceilings. I know you use (2) 2x4"s shaped in a T to rest it on when you screw it on the ceiling. But after that I gots no idea

yeah and a good crew could do your whole house in the time it takes you to unload the truck put up one sheet on the ceiling.
My brother does all kinds of re-modeling and additions - does everything himself except for roofing or drywall because the mexican crews get it done so fast.

ceiling first. Drywall is not 4' wide.

I've only got one small bathroom to do, I wouldn't be able to find a cheap crew willing to do that I don't think.

You can always find drywall guys looking to do side work. The trick is finding someone who isn't a jerk off. Most will do it for cash, under the table. Get a FINISHER, not a HANGER to do it. Anybody can hang drywall, finish work is an art.
Otherwise, ceiling first then walls. You get the appearance of cleaner joints that way. If you fuck it up, the rule of thumb in the construction industry is "a good painter can fix it". :xyzthumbs

just be sure to get the BLUE drywall board. It's got some rot/water/mildew resistant stuff in it.
ceiling. Just like painting you start from the top down. Make sure your mexicans understand this. :)

This is what I did at home. I had to finish it myself after my worthless brother in law stopped showing up to do the work I had paid him to do. I did not hang the ceiling but I did hang the walls. Mouldings cover up a lot of stuff.
If I had it to do over I would have hired mexicans.

Sorry builder it's green board not blue and only needed behind your shower/bath stall. Maybe the sink if you're messy.

green, blue, whatever. I know there's a different board for drywalling wet areas than the regular stuff. The guy that redid Banger's bath used it all over.

The board you put under tile floors (backer board) isn't the same as what is used on walls right? Backer board is rough as hell and has concrete like substance in it

That's for ceramic tile...usually floors and walls that are uneven. And it is a concrete/cement mix with fiberglass mesh embedded. It's 3' x 5'. 5' because that's the length of the average tub/shower enclosure. :)

Within the last 3 weeks I have tiled my laundry room and downstairs half bath. That board and the mortor mix use to fill in the unevenness under backer board and then another to adhear the tiles to have left my hands a mess. I am moving upstairs next. Used larger tile for upstairs, upstairs gets the 4" tile

It's called Wonder Board. I've used it in acoustical ceilings around hot stuff. It's hell to work with.
