Anybody have a reciprocating saw I might be able to borrow for the weekend in exchange for some chicken?
i've vommited up chicken twice this week. no thanks.
nice to see the barter system is still in full effect. You gonna cut up some chickens or what?

Ive got a big Bosch one. Havent even broken it out of the case yet. But not sure you want to venture all the way out here to get it.
Go to Sunbelt or United Rentals and get one for $15 a day.

My friend who I was borrowing it from was supposed to fly back from a snowboarding trip tomorrow in Raleigh but he got coerced into visiting the inlaws while they are in the area and won't be back until Sunday. I have a plumber coming next Wed and have to have it gutted and the subfloor replaced by then. I'll figure something out.

Me and this guy share things like this, not much need for it in general and typically I have access to it whenever it's needed. I just didn't plan for this wrinkle since I decided to start a week in advance.

Hell I do have one of those!!!
It might not be powerful enough though. I got it with the drill, sander and saw combo thingy with a rechargeable battery. Ive only used the saw once, but I think I have two different kind of blades for it.

Yeah we played that one in the band and not really the band band, its a gooden. I am also very fond of WSPs version of It Stoned Me and Cant find my Way Home, all good songs of the same genre.

your going to need a grinder with a small saw blade to get the subfloor cut at the baseboards.....otherwise you will blow right throught the subfloor and into the joists and your cuts will look like a grade schoolers....unless your worth and damn and can control the depth and angle you cut.

I'm scared to ask anymore questions....but fuck it I'll do it anyway....you aren't taking out any structural walls are you....you might want to go in the attic and make sure nothing is bearing on them....you know like CEILING JOISTS OR ROOF RAFTERS!

no, just taking the old plasterboard and tiles and mud out not the actual walls. Repairing the subfloor under the old tub after removing it. Then new tub, drywall, etc. The subfloor was once halfassed replaced up to the bathtub. To avoid removing the old tub they raised th subfloor above the joists with some 1"x so the new floor would butt up against the tub. So I am removing the spacers and putting new subfloor at the correct place the entire 5X9 bathroom.
