Imagine if WFNZ had a 50K watt stick as well, I'm sure the numbers would be closer to a certain degree . . . . Of course, WFNZ will say that WRFX is their true competitor (i.e. they are both going after the Male 23-54 demographic), but I still wonder how a 5k watt sports talk station can compete with a 100,000 watt FM rock & roll station (with John Boy & Billy as their AM drive time show)  ? ? ? ? Imagine I-F the MORNING SPORTS PAGE was on a 50K watt signal; at least they would have a fighting chance to compete . . . .

Hmmmmmmmm, considering how WXRC (95.7) ratings are below sea level right now, I don't see why WFNZ wouldn't try to buy their frequency and simulcast it on the FM side ; I think 610 BIG WAYS 'back in the day' (1970's, when Jay Thomas, Larry Sprinkle & Co. were at the station) simulcasted on 95.1 fm (?) . . . Obviously, this allowed them to hit most of the CLT region and beyond. It wouldn't cost Infinity Broadcasting a whole lot of money to buy WXRC I would think, since their revenues in the post-Howard Stern era are puny at best  . . .

An FM station would be great. I can hear FNZ in Fort Mill, but I'm relieved to turn the station when the static goes away.

Dude, even in that demo, the gap is still substantial.
