I walked 4 miles this morning and then went to Eckerds and my bp was 96/63. I said oh shit and the pharmacist told me to take it again. This time it was 99/64. She took her own blood pressure and then put her arm in the machine and it was right at the same numbers. So the machine wasn't off. She then told me mine was way too low. The doc office said low was below 90/60 and that was where hypotension started. They both (pharmacist and doc) went to school for 8 years. Who do I believe?

The Doctor...The Doctor...The Doctor. Without question.

Putt, I hope you're feeling better and soon. Maybe you're overdoing it? I don't know - but I don't like the sound of any of this :(.

Don't some people just have lower than average blood pressure? Is this necessarily a problem?

I know about Hyper-tension. But is there Hypo-tension? Seriously.

yeah, Hypo is what they said. I looked it up on the net and the numbers seem to be all the same, below 90/60

That article explains it. Thanks

If your doctor is not concerned about it I would not be either. I would keep a check on it to make sure it does not get lower but other than that I would not let it bother me.

What is your normal b/p range Putt? 90/60 is low but not that uncommon. You say you had been walking before the reading so your heart was working harder as it should. When you "suddenly" stop, sometimes the body goes into a "crash mode" (not always bad) where the b/p drops more than usual but quickly comes back to whatever normal is during your cool down period. It's not a problem unless you get lightheaded or dizzy.

It was not unusual during my rehab to be 84/55 after exercise, especially after taking my heart meds earlier.

It's been being about 110/70 and now that you mention it I don't believe I ever just walked straight in and had it took after exercise.

the only thing u are likely to notice with slightly lowered bp is getting dizzy when you stand up or move fast.

96/63.

I said oh shit.... This time it was 99/64.
Sounds like this is your normal BP. It went up a little after you saw the first set.

Nothing wrong w/ it being low. They're now saying that 120/80 is bordering on high. Go w/ the Doc's numbers.
