The Mooresville Blue Devils Mens Soccer team beat Asheville 1-0 to advance to the NCHSAA 3A State Championship Game this Saturday in Cary, NC. After years of getting turned away in the late rounds of the 3A state playoffs the Blue Devils finally rang the bell to get a shot at the title. Mooresville (19-3) scored the only goal of the game with approx. 10 seconds remaining in stoppage time to stun Asheville (20-4-1) on a windy, rainy Mooresville Stadium turf. Mooresville will face the winner of the NE Guilford/WC Jacksonville game.

edit....Mooresville won the NCHSAA 2A Mens Soccer Titles in 1989 and 1991

They should have split the title - hate the use of PK's to end a match. My daughter lost a state title the same way her senior year.
