In principle, I'm fine with it, as long as we don't circumvent the hiring process by making them "interns". Either make her a real coach, or don't. Be in or out. This is Arizona dipping their toe into the water. It's a chickenshit play.

Or it's an unprecedented hire and this allows them some flexibility. BTW, most male coaches in the league start out as GA's or interns at some point. Therefore, it makes sense to have potential female candidates to follow the same career path.

 

I would support it if it were genuine. I think like most things in the NFL it's for good press to keep people from look at dumbass defensive linemen driving 143 mph high with a 13 year old i the car.

 

Not in the NFL, unless they played in the NFL several years. Usually, they spend years as a GA at some shitty school, often sleeping in their cars as they creep their way up the ladder. Pete Carroll had to do that for five years before he earned a real collegiate position. It's an incredibly grueling profession to advance in, and this woman is getting a chance to bypass all of that.


Again, I'm fine with females in the NFL. I'm not okay with positive discrimination. They should have to earn their bones just like the rest of them.
