    Willie Snead WR
The Carolina Panthers tweeted Tuesday afternoon the ex-Ball State wide receiver signed with their practice squad. Soon after, Snead fired off a tweet of his own with the news.

Snead left Ball State after the 2013 season, forgoing his senior campaign. He'd just completed the finest receiving season in school history, setting records in yards (1,516), receptions (106) and touchdowns (15).

He went undrafted and played with the Browns in the preseason, a time that grew more hectic around the birth of his daughter in the middle of the summer. He was part of the Cleveland's last round of cuts and then had a tryout with the Giants.

Before the draft, he said he'd spoken with the Panthers, who have one of the thinnest groups of receivers in the NFL. Carolina also has Kelvin Benjamin, the ex-Florida State star who played for Snead's father in high school (they just missed playing with each other in Belle Glade, (Florida).

The Panthers have re-signed safety Robert Lester to practice squad. Former Browns OT Martin Wallace has also been signed to practice squad.
