Yeah it was something like that.

But hey, blame it all on the punt returner.

QB rating will always look okay on smith because he takes lots of checkdowns (comp% inflated) and doesn't throw a ton of picks (instead takes sacks at a Carr like rate) but as Big Red's article pointed out that doesn't get you a lot of wins.

I don't recall him taking a lot of sacks during his time in SF under JH.

I do think he's a better QB than CK7, although I believe that CK7 is a good QB.

I was at that NFC championship game against the Giants. It was brutal, and Smith did not play well.

If you don't think AS is a good QB, then more power to ya. Without knowing a whole lot about you guys, I can declare that you are knowledgeable fans. That said, that's probably the reason we look at him as a QB differently. I look at it from a coaching perspective. You don't.

QB's throw more check down routes than intermediate routes. Having a QB that understands this and practices it regularly is a good thing. While explosiveness and theatrics put asses in the stands, these attributes aren't necessarily what win games.

You're the one posting articles using QB rating to praise smith find another way to prove his greatness if you don't like the flaws in QB rating.

I haven't been paying attention, but does San Diego have the best record in the AFC right now? My god who the hell saw that coming? Image if they had Alex Smith.

Yeah as they are 5-1! McCoy has worked magic in that team.

I didn't realize that Rivers has been this great. Pretty impressive.
