I wouldn't say awful - 50 yards better than the average, no fumbles or interceptions, 329 yards, 1 touchdown. They protected the ball and did decent against a good Miami defense.

yeah 231 yards 17-31, 116 yards rushing NO TURNOVERS. With that defense I'll take that every Saturday with no complaints.

UNC is no offensive juggernaut by any stretch, but you have got to hand it to Butch Davis and his staff for turning things around on that side of the ball. John Shoop has been brilliant at finding ways to manufacture offense in these last 4 games. If they can just start scoring TD's instead of FG's, those numbers will go up even more.

Boston College is an absolute MUST WIN for the Tar Heels. The season goes into reverse with a loss.

That's a little over dramatic, don't you think? I doubt one more loss will make any difference at all, as far as recruiting, or which bowl they go to.

For all the stat geeks living in their mothers basements that refuse to accept that Carolina's offense sucks....

What will it take to convince you that the Heels are helpless with the ball ?

They'll need a real QB at some point.

I'm guessing Pam Ward didn't kiss very many boys while growing up.

They also need a legitimate Division I tailback and a group of Division I offensive linemen. The receivers, I'm not sure on them yet but I suspect they are OK, not great.

i would LOVE to know your idea of what a division 1 player is.
yes, some depth on the o-line would be great. actually depth everywhere will be great.

yates vs delhomme.
not sure on that one. not a very fair comparrison.

someone remind me - how long has Davis been in Chapel Hill?
time gentlemen. this isnt the yanees where you can go buy players (at least legally)

Yates won't sniff an NFL roster.

That's good news. Austin and Sturdivant will go IMO although Austin could use another year to get more consistent.

Austin is listed as the 3rd best tackle as a junior, he may not be drafted until after the 3rd round.

I'm pretty sure that Carter and Sturdivant are best friends, so I don't know why anybody would assume that Quan is gone.

I'm not worried one way or the other though, because there will be great players coming right behind all of these guys, and the offense is pretty much guaranteed to be better next year, since Yates will have Renner breathing down his neck for the starting QB job, and there are a bunch of quality O-linemen coming in.
