I'm really blasting spending, not just Obama. I don't like it when any POTUS does it. Obama is just the one in charge NOW and is really ramping up the spending.

As far as 1929 compared to today. There are reasons the market didn't collapse today that have nothing to do with spending. The FDIC being the main reason, IMHO.

is he ramping it up tho? in the previous 8 years, the debt went from 33% of the gdp to 56-57% of the gdp. so going to 80% in the next 10 years seems like just more of the same. and again, this is a projection as opposed to the 8 years of reality we just went thru. kinda odd to freak out over a projection and not complain much about the reality (not saying you specifically, but scrappy et al).

I thought Obama ran against higher deficts?,, I thought that was the hope and change?

he wanted to be President and was supposed to lower the deficit and balance the budget not quaduple the defict.. and btw he promised that unemployment would not go over 8% if we passed his spending trillion dollar package.. he is on video promising that

True as this is his doing now and the hell with what happened years ago under the other administration. It is his now, no matter how the left twists it around, a person has to look at what is happening NOW, not what took place doing the Bush years the HELL with the Bush years they are over and done with. This now will be O's administration failed policy now.

To pretend like events that happened less than a year ago have no influence on current situation is ridiculously ignorant. In a weak economy deficit spending is necessary. Nobody wants to do it, nobody likes to do it, but it has to be done.

What the Hell has he done to correct it?
Has O stopped runaway unemployment?
Has O created Jobs?
Has O started the economy back on the right path?
Has O done anything to stop the deficit from going any higher then what the previous administrations was?
Has O Started ANY programs that will start Americans back to work?
NO on ALL accounts. So it IS his problem and the hell with what took place over a year ago.
He HAS to get this country turned in the right direction, but so far not one thing he has done will do that.
In fact it has turned the bad and will make it WORSE.

That could be my friend,I said it was really 10% 2 years ago and my friends on the right said I was crazy. Just like they did when I started the thread about "here come the recession" in the summer of 2007. I guess you know how crazy I was now.
